1. Your agreement with Family Pantry
These Terms and Conditions govern familypantry.us and Family Pantry’s recipes, images, collections, meal plans, calendar, grocery lists, household features, pricing tools, recipe imports, community features, and related website services (the Service). “Family Pantry,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operators of the Service. “You” means the person using it.
Review these Terms before using the Service. When you check the agreement box and select “Agree and continue,” you accept this version of the Terms electronically. Creating a sign-in account alone does not record acceptance. Account features require acceptance. If you do not agree, do not use account features; you may review our legal pages, sign out, request support, or delete your account without accepting.
These Terms apply to your use of the entire Service, including free features. Our Privacy and Cookie Policy explains our data practices. Accepting these Terms is not consent to optional advertising cookies or a waiver of privacy rights. Separately disclosed terms may apply to a particular optional feature.
2. Eligibility and account security
You must be at least 13 years old to create or use an account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. You must have legal authority to accept these Terms for yourself or for any person or organization you represent.
Provide accurate account information, use your own authorized sign-in credentials, protect access to your account, and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity you authorize and for choosing appropriate household members. Do not impersonate someone, share another person’s credentials, or evade an account restriction. We may require verification before granting access or processing a sensitive request.
3. Shared households and your records
Household members can access and change shared recipes, plans, grocery quantities, purchased status, and other shared information. Household owners can manage membership and may delete the household and its shared records. Only invite people authorized to receive that information. Do not put sensitive information into a shared household unless you intend its members to see it.
You are responsible for reviewing changes made by household members and keeping copies of records you need. Leaving or being removed from a household can end your access to shared information. Account or household deletion may be permanent, subject to the retention practices described in our Privacy and Cookie Policy and any rights required by law. We do not promise continuous availability, recovery of every record, or permanent storage.
4. Permission to use the Service
Subject to these Terms and applicable law, we give you a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable permission to use the Service for your personal and household planning. You may save or print recipes and plans for that purpose, while keeping source credits and proprietary notices. This permission does not transfer ownership of the Service or third-party content.
Do not sell access, commercially republish the recipe library or images, create a competing copied catalog, or use our branding to suggest endorsement without written permission. Uses independently permitted by law, including fair use, are not restricted by this section.
5. Abuse and prohibited conduct
Do not use the Service unlawfully; infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights; upload malware or malicious links; harass, threaten, defraud, discriminate against, or exploit others; post spam, deceptive ratings, or content you are not authorized to share; or expose another person’s confidential information.
Do not access another household or account without permission, bypass authentication or rate limits, interfere with service availability, probe or exploit vulnerabilities without authorization, reverse engineer protected components except as law permits, or disguise automated traffic to evade restrictions. Do not mass harvest account information, scrape or systematically copy the Service, or use it to build a resale or training dataset without our written permission. Normal search-engine indexing that follows our published crawler instructions, accessibility tools, and integrations we authorize are permitted.
Report suspected security issues or abuse to [email protected]. Give us enough information to investigate without accessing other users’ data or disrupting the Service. We may investigate suspected violations, preserve relevant evidence, restrict access, remove prohibited material, and cooperate with lawful requests. These rules do not prohibit honest reviews, lawful complaints, or reports to regulators or law enforcement.
6. Your content and permissions
You retain the rights you have in recipes, notes, images, ratings, and other material you submit. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it and allow the uses described here. A link to a recipe does not itself give permission to copy the publisher’s text or images. Review imports and respect the source publisher’s rights and access restrictions.
You give Family Pantry a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, process, and display your submitted content only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and provide the Service to you and the people you authorize. We may use service providers for those purposes. Private household content is not made public merely because you submit it. Content submitted to a clearly public feature, such as a public rating, may be displayed there.
This license ends when the content is deleted from the Service, except for copies other authorized household members retain, routine backup cycles, and records needed for security, legal obligations, or resolving disputes, as described in our Privacy and Cookie Policy. You do not transfer ownership of your reviews or waive your right to express an honest opinion. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law; we do not promise to review every submission.
7. Site content, sources, and images
The Service’s software, design, branding, original materials, and selection and arrangement of content are owned by Family Pantry or its licensors. Third-party recipes, trademarks, product information, and linked materials belong to their respective owners. Source attribution does not imply affiliation or endorsement and does not grant rights beyond those the owner or applicable law allows.
Recipes, categorization, serving conversions, imports, images, and other content may contain human or automated errors. Images may be illustrative or generated and may not show an exact ingredient, portion, technique, or finished result. Review ingredients, quantities, equipment, instructions, and imported material before relying on them. We may correct or remove content without promising a particular recipe or result.
8. Cooking, allergens, nutrition, and health
The Service provides general planning and cooking information, not individualized medical, nutrition, allergy, or professional advice. Dietary tags, ingredient lists, substitutions, nutrition information, and user content may be incomplete or inaccurate. We cannot guarantee that a recipe or product is suitable for a dietary restriction, health condition, pregnancy, or allergy.
You are responsible for checking current product labels, recalls, allergens, cross-contact risks, safe storage, preparation, cooking temperatures, and equipment instructions. Use a food thermometer where appropriate and follow current food-safety guidance. Ask a qualified healthcare professional about individual medical or dietary needs. Cooking and food handling involve risks, including burns, injury, foodborne illness, and allergic reactions; use reasonable care and appropriate supervision.
9. Prices, budgets, quantities, and estimates
All prices, cost calculations, budget results, quantities, and shopping projections are informational estimates unless explicitly identified otherwise. They are not a retailer offer, a checkout quote, a price guarantee, or a promise that a meal or shopping trip will fit a budget. Family Pantry does not sell the groceries shown or control a retailer’s prices, availability, product selection, substitutions, promotions, loyalty offers, fees, or taxes.
We aim to display a planning price for every ingredient. When available, we use Kroger product prices from a supported store selected using your location. Without a location, we may use a reference store. When an exact ingredient, form, product, package size, or measurement is unavailable, we may choose the closest comparable product, use a published price, or apply a typical category or package assumption. We may estimate weights, volumes, counts, ingredient density, portion size, missing quantities, and recipe yield to complete a calculation. Prices and conversions may be inaccurate, including materially inaccurate, and individual approximations are not separately marked on recipe, meal-plan, or shopping pages. A displayed price does not establish that an exact product was found, that a retailer confirmed that amount, or that the product is available. Store information and prices can be unavailable, delayed, or changed after retrieval.
You may enter a ZIP code or choose device location. A manually entered ZIP code takes priority over device location for personal pricing. We request device location through your browser only after you choose that option, or use it automatically when your browser already grants permission and no ZIP override is set. Location permission is optional and can be revoked in your browser. Device coordinates are rounded to approximately one-kilometer precision before being sent to our server and the Kroger location-search service to find nearby stores. We do not save those coordinates to your account or household. A household ZIP explicitly set by its owner is the default for shared grocery and calendar pricing unless you choose your own ZIP or device location; personal device coordinates are not shared with other household members.
Recipe costs describe the quantity of ingredients used. Grocery purchase estimates describe the packages or increments that may need to be bought, so these amounts can differ. Serving changes, unit conversions, yields, rounding, package sizes, pantry stock, and shared household edits can affect a calculation. A subtotal can cover only the ingredients with usable prices; missing prices are unknown and do not mean an ingredient is free. A displayed per-serving amount does not establish a complete shopping total.
Verify actual products, required package quantities, prices, availability, and the final total directly with the retailer before buying. Taxes, deposits, delivery charges, tips, memberships, discounts, and other costs may be excluded. Your own worksheet entries and household changes are your responsibility. We do not guarantee savings, complete ingredient coverage, accurate comparisons, or a particular financial outcome.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service may use or link to authentication providers, retailers, publishers, advertising services, hosting providers, and other third parties. Their independent services and websites are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their availability, security, content, policies, transactions, or fulfillment, and a link or displayed product does not imply an endorsement.
Only connect accounts and grant permissions you are authorized to use. You may need to revoke access through the relevant provider as well as through Family Pantry. Third-party changes can interrupt or remove an integration. Purchases and disputes with a retailer remain between you and that retailer.
11. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may change, limit, interrupt, or discontinue features for operational, security, legal, or business reasons. We may suspend or terminate access for a material violation of these Terms, risks to other users or the Service, fraud, or a legal requirement. Where reasonable and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve a violation; immediate action may be necessary to prevent harm.
You may stop using the Service, sign out, or use the account and household deletion controls. If you cannot access those controls, contact us. Termination does not eliminate obligations that arose before termination. Content licenses retained for the limited purposes described above, ownership provisions, lawful liability limits, and dispute provisions survive as needed. Any future paid offering will require its own clearly disclosed purchase and cancellation terms; these Terms alone do not authorize a charge.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE ACCESS, SECURITY AGAINST EVERY THREAT, OR ANY PARTICULAR COOKING, HEALTH, SAVINGS, OR PLANNING RESULT.
You decide whether and how to rely on the Service. These disclaimers do not override an express commitment we make in a separate written agreement or any warranty or consumer protection that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
13. Limits on liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FAMILY PANTRY, ITS OPERATORS, PERSONNEL, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, OR LOSS OF DATA ARISING FROM THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH LOSS IS POSSIBLE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FAMILY PANTRY FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
These limits apply only where lawful. They do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence where that liability cannot lawfully be limited, or any other liability or remedy that applicable law makes non-excludable. Some jurisdictions do not allow some exclusions or limits, so the relevant limits apply only to the extent allowed in your jurisdiction.
14. Responsibility for third-party claims
If you are legally an adult, and only to the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify Family Pantry and its operators and personnel against reasonable, documented losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, from third-party claims caused by your unlawful conduct, your infringement of another person’s rights through content you submit, or your intentional or material violation of these Terms. This does not cover claims caused by our own negligence or misconduct, ordinary authorized use, or rights you cannot lawfully waive.
We will provide reasonably prompt notice of a covered claim and allow reasonable participation in its defense. No settlement may impose an admission, payment, or nonmonetary obligation on you without your consent, which will not be unreasonably withheld. We may control our own defense, subject to your applicable legal rights.
15. Questions, disputes, and mandatory rights
For a concern or dispute, contact [email protected] with a description and the resolution you seek. We encourage a good-faith effort to resolve it, but contacting us is not a prerequisite to exercising a legal right and does not shorten, extend, or suspend any legal deadline unless we agree in writing or law requires it.
Applicable United States federal law and the state or other law determined by the relevant court’s conflict-of-law rules govern, subject to mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Disputes may be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction and venue. These Terms do not require arbitration, waive a right to bring a class action, restrict access to small-claims court, prevent a complaint to an authority, or take away nonwaivable consumer rights.
16. Changes to these Terms
The effective date and version identify the document currently offered. We will post updated Terms here and provide a reasonably prominent notice of material changes. Material changes to the account agreement will require a new affirmative acceptance before account features continue. Changes apply prospectively; a later version does not retroactively change an existing dispute without your agreement. We retain released versions so you can review the text associated with an acceptance record.
If you do not accept an update, you may stop using account features and request deletion or support. A version date by itself is not evidence that you accepted a document. We record the accepted version, document fingerprint, and server timestamp for account acceptance.
17. General provisions
These Terms and any separately accepted feature terms form the agreement about your use of the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or severed only as needed, and the remaining provisions continue to apply. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or this agreement without our consent; we may transfer the Service and related obligations as part of a lawful reorganization or transfer, subject to applicable law and our privacy commitments.
No partnership, employment, agency, or third-party beneficiary relationship is created by these Terms. Notices about your account or the Service may be provided within the Service or to your account email where appropriate. Legal rights or formal notice requirements provided by applicable law remain unaffected.
18. Contact and rights complaints
Contact Family Pantry at [email protected] for account support, abuse or security reports, legal notices, or questions about these Terms. For a copyright or other rights complaint, identify the material and its URL, describe your rights and the concern, and provide contact details so we can investigate. Do not send passwords, payment details, or unnecessary sensitive information. Our Contact page and Privacy and Cookie Policy provide additional support and privacy information.
