Additional recipe notes

Ingredients and Substitutions: Before you ask — yes! You can make this recipe with pudding mix and whipped topping, but I figure anyone can do that, and I wanted to give you a recipe for Dirt Cake with homemade chocolate pudding, because sometimes you want to be a little extra (or you just enjoy making things from scratch!). Milk : you can use any kind of milk you like here, even dairy-free. Chocolate : again — any kind will do! Choose milk chocolate for a sweeter pudding, dark chocolate for less sweet pudding. Cream : because we are whipping it, you cannot substitute the heavy cream with another kind of cream. You can substitute this with 2 cups of whipped topping if you prefer.
