Additional recipe notes
Yield: Recipe will yield about 40 meatballs. Leftovers: Store these in the fridge in an airtight container for 3-4 days . They are perfect for reheating in the microwave! If you’d prefer a different option, you can also reheat them covered in a saucepan over medium heat. Feel free to add an extra splash of beef broth if the gravy has thickened up too much. Freezing: Let the meatballs cool down to room temperature and store in an airtight container. I like to store this recipe in individually-sized containers to make thawing easier. These meatballs will last up to 3 months frozen.
Storage & reheating safety
For cooked, perishable leftovers, refrigerate within 2 hours (1 hour above 90°F), using shallow containers for prompt cooling. Keep the refrigerator at 40°F or below, use refrigerated leftovers within 3–4 days, and reheat hot leftovers to 165°F, checked with a food thermometer. Follow any shorter package limit.
These are general safety limits, not a tested storage or freezing recommendation for this particular dish. USDA leftovers guidance · Safe cooking temperatures
