One Pan Teriyaki Chicken and Noodles
These glossy noodles are made for twirling straight out of a generous bowl. The sweet and savory sauce brings everything together, with bright vegetables breaking up each forkful. Having the chopping done before the pan gets hot makes this an especially pleasant dinner to put together.

A few quick notes
1. Brown the chicken first
Cook the chicken pieces in the heated oil, turning once, before adding the vegetables.
2. Keep the vegetable stage brief
Cook the carrots, peas and peppers until tender-crisp before adding the sauce ingredients.
3. Stir beneath the lid
Cover the simmering spaghetti but stir occasionally as it cooks to al dente.

A little more help as you go
Matchstick carrots
Use the matchstick-cut carrots specified in the ingredient list for the vegetable stage.
Noodle substitutions need checking
You can use another noodle, but its cooking time may differ.
A few questions you might have
Do I boil the spaghetti separately?
No, add it directly to the simmering sauce mixture and cook it covered in the skillet.
Should the vegetables be completely soft first?
The directions call for tender-crisp vegetables before adding the liquid.
Can I use a different noodle?
Yes, but another noodle's cooking time may differ from the spaghetti directions.
Why are reduced-sodium broth and soy sauce listed?
These give more control over seasoning; regular versions can be saltier.
When do I add the green onions?
Stir them in once the spaghetti is al dente, just before serving.
Any more cooking tips?
Ingredients and Substitutions: Chicken: I use boneless, skinless chicken breasts because we usually have them on hand. You can sub for boneless chicken thighs, or omit for a meatless meal. Vegetables: If you want to bump up the veggie content, you can easily add mushrooms, bok choy, cabbage or a coleslaw mix, or broccoli slaw mix. Feel free to experiment here. Chicken broth and soy sauce: I always use low sodium chicken broth and soy sauce so I can control the seasoning. If you’re using regular soy sauce or broth, it may be more salty. Spaghetti: We always have spaghetti on hand and we love it in this dish! Feel free to swap with another noodle of your choice. Keep in mind that the cook time may differ.
Storage & reheating safety
For cooked, perishable leftovers, refrigerate within 2 hours (1 hour above 90°F), using shallow containers for prompt cooling. Keep the refrigerator at 40°F or below, use refrigerated leftovers within 3–4 days, and reheat hot leftovers to 165°F, checked with a food thermometer. Follow any shorter package limit.
These are general safety limits, not a tested storage or freezing recommendation for this particular dish. USDA leftovers guidance · Safe cooking temperatures
