Crispy Chicken Tenders

A crisp Parmesan crumb makes these chicken tenders especially inviting to pick up. There's lemon and garlic behind the coating, with a little parsley in the mix. Bring them out golden and enjoy the crunchy outside with the tender chicken underneath, adding the suggested honey mustard if you fancy it.

A few quick notes

1. Let tenders sit in egg mixture

Dip the chicken in the whisked egg mixture while you prepare the separate breadcrumb bowl.

2. Press crumbs on lightly

Dredge the coated tenders in the crumb mixture, using light pressure to give them an even coating.

3. Turn during baking

Flip the tenders after the first baking stage so they finish cooking on their other side.

Make room for Crispy Chicken Tenders

Review ingredients in your pantry before anything is added. Meal plans use your household size; grocery-only additions use the servings selected above.

The last little job

Choose the golden finish

Bake until cooked through; the optional final broil gives the crumb its golden, crispy finish.

A little more help as you go

Optional longer marinade

The covered chicken can refrigerate in its egg mixture for the longer optional marinating window before breading.

Lightly spray before baking

Arrange the crumbed tenders on the prepared tray and spray lightly with cooking oil before baking.

A few questions you might have

Can I choose a different paprika?

Mild paprika is listed, with sweet, smoky or spicy paprika also allowed for the breadcrumb mixture.

Is there a dipping sauce suggestion?

For honey mustard sauce, mix mayonnaise, Dijon and honey. Salt and white vinegar are optional.

Must I use the longer refrigerator marinade?

It's optional if time allows; you can skip the longer marinating stage when needed.

Does lemon juice go into the crumbs?

Whisk it into the egg mixture. The crumbs and Parmesan are combined separately before coating the chicken.

How do I prepare the baking sheet?

Lightly grease it with cooking oil spray or a light coating of oil before adding the breaded tenders.

Any more cooking tips?

Chicken tenders develop a deeper flavour when marinated in the egg mixture. If you don’t have time, you can skip this step. HONEY MUSTARD SAUCE 1/2 cup of a whole egg mayo 1/4 cup Dijon mustard 1/4 cup of honey MIX WELL. OPTIONAL: Season with a pinch of salt and flavour with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of white vinegar.
