Additional recipe notes
Pro Tip! To help your burger patties keep their shape and not puff up during cooking, make a small indentation on the top of each raw patty before air frying. Your turkey burgers will stay nice and flat with minimal shrinkage! Don’t use 99% lean turkey! It will produce dry burgers and no one wants that! Stick with 93% lean ground turkey for juicy patties. Toppings: We love to eat these delicious turkey burgers on buns (toasted buns are even better!) with all of our favorite toppings. We like cheese, lettuce, sliced tomato, red onion, mayo, and ketchup. Avocado and bacon are amazing toppings, too. Serving suggestions: I usually pair some frozen French fries or sweet potato fries with our turkey burgers, and we also love them with my easy Crockpot Baked Beans , Italian Pasta Salad , or Air Fryer Corn on the Cob . Store leftover turkey burgers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Freezer instructions: I love to prep a large batch of turkey burgers to freeze for later. Make your patties as directed then place them on a parchment paper lined baking sheet in the freezer until they are solid. Wrap or stack the patties with pieces of parchment paper in between each one, and store in a freezer safe container or ziplock bag in the freezer for up to 6 months. Thaw frozen turkey burgers in the fridge before cooking in the air fryer. *Nutrition facts do not include buns or toppings
Storage & reheating safety
For cooked, perishable leftovers, refrigerate within 2 hours (1 hour above 90°F), using shallow containers for prompt cooling. Keep the refrigerator at 40°F or below, use refrigerated leftovers within 3–4 days, and reheat hot leftovers to 165°F, checked with a food thermometer. Follow any shorter package limit.
These are general safety limits, not a tested storage or freezing recommendation for this particular dish. USDA leftovers guidance · Safe cooking temperatures
