Additional recipe notes
What’s the correct order for layering lasagna? There are different ways to layer lasagna, and all are technically “correct.” What you want to do is alternate tomato-based sauce, lasagna noodles, and white/cheese/cream sauce so that you have a nice stack of flavors in every bite. For this easy lasagna recipe, layer in this order: add an initial layer of tomato sauce to the bottom, then continue layering noodles, tomato sauce, and cheese sauce until you run out of sauce or reach the top of the baking dish.
Storage & reheating safety
For cooked, perishable leftovers, refrigerate within 2 hours (1 hour above 90°F), using shallow containers for prompt cooling. Keep the refrigerator at 40°F or below, use refrigerated leftovers within 3–4 days, and reheat hot leftovers to 165°F, checked with a food thermometer. Follow any shorter package limit.
These are general safety limits, not a tested storage or freezing recommendation for this particular dish. USDA leftovers guidance · Safe cooking temperatures
