Additional recipe notes
Why can't I use bottled lemon juice? Bottled lemon juice in recipes can taste bitter. This recipe has been tested with fresh lemon juice. Many reviews who have used bottled instead have not liked the meal for the flavor of the bottled lemon juice isn't right for this recipe. How to Store: Place in airtight containers and refrigerate for up to three days. I do not recommend freezing this for potatoes don't reheat well after being froze. Variations Use a different vegetable than green beans. You can use: Broccoli, asparagus, canned or fresh corn, baby carrots, or use extra potatoes! Use Italian dressing instead of the homemade (such as Newman's own. Or use a stick of melted butter and sprinkle a packet of Good Seasons Italian dressing mix over. You can find the Italian dressing mix on the salad dressing aisle next to the ranch dressing packets.
Storage & reheating safety
For cooked, perishable leftovers, refrigerate within 2 hours (1 hour above 90°F), using shallow containers for prompt cooling. Keep the refrigerator at 40°F or below, use refrigerated leftovers within 3–4 days, and reheat hot leftovers to 165°F, checked with a food thermometer. Follow any shorter package limit.
These are general safety limits, not a tested storage or freezing recommendation for this particular dish. USDA leftovers guidance · Safe cooking temperatures
