Traeger Baby Back Ribs
Baby back ribs with a smoky barbecue coating make a very tempting plate to gather around. Honey and brown sugar give the outside a sticky sweetness, with pepper in the rub behind it. Let the racks rest, then enjoy the ribs with your favorite barbecue sauce.

A few quick notes
1. Remove the back membrane
Pull the slippery membrane from the back using paper towel, or ask the butcher to remove it.
2. Season edges as well
Wet the ribs with the specified vinegar mist, then coat all sides and edges with the dry seasoning.
3. Seal the foil carefully
Wrap the ribs without puncturing the foil and seal the ends so moisture can't escape during baking.

The last little job
Rest inside the foil
After the oven stage, keep ribs in their foil for the stated rest before enjoying with barbecue sauce.
A little more help as you go
Meat side changes position
The racks smoke meat-side up, then lie meat-side down over the butter-sugar mixture when wrapped for baking.
Freeze leftovers airtight
The directions allow airtight freezer storage for up to a month, followed by the listed gentle oven reheating.
A few questions you might have
How long do the seasoned racks rest?
The directions give an hour after applying dry seasoning, with smoker preheating starting before that rest finishes.
Does barbecue sauce go on before the first smoke?
The initial smoke uses the seasoned ribs; brush on sauce after that stage, following the first vinegar mist.
What goes into the foil packets?
Each has butter, honey, brown sugar, vinegar and barbecue sauce before the ribs are laid meat-side down on the mixture.
Are both sides sauced before wrapping?
After placing ribs over the foil mixture, mist the bone side with vinegar and brush that side with sauce too.
Does the smoker do all the cooking?
The racks have their smoking and sauce stages first, then finish wrapped in the oven before resting.
Storage & reheating safety
For cooked, perishable leftovers, refrigerate within 2 hours (1 hour above 90°F), using shallow containers for prompt cooling. Keep the refrigerator at 40°F or below, use refrigerated leftovers within 3–4 days, and reheat hot leftovers to 165°F, checked with a food thermometer. Follow any shorter package limit.
