Additional recipe notes
This recipe works best with pork chops at least 1 inch thick. For thin pork chops, I recommend using my thin pork chops recipe . What cuts of pork should I use to make this recipe? I love using rib chops, but pork loin chops and center-cut chops also work great. If the pork chops you buy don’t indicate what type they are, don’t worry! This recipe works great with all chops that are at least 1 inch thick. Baking time: Bake your boneless pork chops for 7 minutes per ½ inch of thickness, and bake bone-in pork chops for 8 minutes per half inch. Baking dish: Choose a baking dish that is just the right size for the pork chops. There shouldn’t be too much room between them, or the juices will evaporate in the oven. If you don’t have the right-sized baking dish, use a cast-iron or ovenproof frying pan instead. Elevation: This recipe has been tested at sea level. As elevation affects cooking time, you may need to cook your pork chops a little longer if you live at a higher elevation. Spice blend: You can switch up the spices in this recipe. If you have a seasoning blend you love, go ahead and use it!
Storage & reheating safety
For cooked, perishable leftovers, refrigerate within 2 hours (1 hour above 90°F), using shallow containers for prompt cooling. Keep the refrigerator at 40°F or below, use refrigerated leftovers within 3–4 days, and reheat hot leftovers to 165°F, checked with a food thermometer. Follow any shorter package limit.
These are general safety limits, not a tested storage or freezing recommendation for this particular dish. USDA leftovers guidance · Safe cooking temperatures
